Who operates this site

PromptSwatch operates promptswatch.com and tipofmyprompt.com and is responsible for the optional analytics described here. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@promptswatch.com.

Hosting and essential storage

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and processes technical request data, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. This essential processing is separate from optional usage analytics. Your analytics choice is stored locally for 180 days; saved ideas and theme preferences stay on your device until you clear them.

Usage and reliability

If you allow optional analytics, we use PostHog, hosted in the United States, to understand visits, referral sources, campaign tags, searches within the catalog, prompt views and copies, bookmarks, and variations. We also measure page performance, failed images, and browser errors to improve the site.

Catalog search terms are normalized and limited to 120 characters, with email addresses and long numbers redacted. This filtering cannot reliably remove all personal or sensitive information. Please avoid entering personal information in the search box. We do not send the prompt text you copy, record browsing sessions, or collect form contents through automatic click tracking. Query strings and fragments are removed from recorded page and referrer URLs.

A pseudonymous analytics identifier is stored in your browser’s session storage. It is not linked to a named account. Analytics are configured not to use your IP address for geolocation. The same setup covers promptswatch.com and visits redirected from tipofmyprompt.com.

Storage and your rights

Analytics events and metadata are retained in our current PostHog plan for up to one year. We use them to improve the catalog and fix problems, based on your consent. PostHog processes this data as our service provider. The US hosting location involves an international data transfer.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of your personal data, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Withdrawing consent stops future optional analytics; it does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing. We do not sell personal data or use analytics for targeted advertising.

Cookies and similar storage

The banner covers cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and session storage. Our analytics use session storage rather than a persistent tracking cookie. Your consent record contains your choice, its date, and the notice version. Optional analytics are not required to use the site, and accepting them is not acceptance of contractual terms.

Before you choose

We do not load PostHog or queue your interactions for later collection before permission. Hosting and security still process requests needed to serve the site. These operational request counts can include bots, assets, and repeat requests; they are not a count of individual visitors.

Your choice

Optional analytics start only after you choose Accept. We remember your choice for 180 days and honor your browser’s Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Use Cookie settings in the footer of any page or the controls below to withdraw consent or change your choice. Withdrawal also stops future analytics in other open tabs on the same domain. Your bookmarks and prompt copying will continue to work.
